About

MetzyMom’s Emporium is all about Garage Sale Items, Homemade Crafts, New and Used Clothing, Casino Collectibles, Vintage Toys, and of course, my Homemade Soaps.  It combines all the things I love selling.  I comb through thrift stores, I pick through estate and garage sales, I attend every store closing in a 50 mile radius… I am always on the look out for awesome stuff to list.  My passion, right now, is soap making. Two years ago I started buying homemade soap… now, I’m making and selling it.  The biggest reason?

WHAT’S IN YOUR SOAP?

Have you ever looked at what is in the soap you buy from the store? Here are the ingredients from a bar of a very popular beauty bar (can’t name the brand but it is made by P&G and starts-with the words Oil of…):
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Paraffin (yes, that’s wax as the second ingredient… now you know how they make the soap hard and how they make it last), Sodium Cocoglyceryl Ether Sulfonate, Glycerin, Water, Talc, Magnesium Stearate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Isethionate, Magnesium Cocoate, Sodium Stearate, Coconut Acid (ACID… NOT OIL), Sodium Chloride, Sodium Cocoate, Fragrance (which means perfume with an alcohol base… otherwise it would be listed as a fragrance oil), Magnesium Laurate, Lauric Acid (there’s that word ACID again), Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Laurate, Tetrasodium Edta, Etidronic Acid (again with the word ACID), Butyrosepermum Parkii (shea butter extract), Peg-90-M.

WHAT’S IN MY SOAP:

Pasturized Goat Milk, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil (that is what makes this soap hard, what keeps it from getting mushy in the shower/bath, and what makes it last), Soybean Oil, Cocoa Butter, Glycerin, Fragrance Oil (Essential Oil where available, but always oil based), Vegetable Coloring.
I think that says it all!!!
